Heather now works in\nseveral capacities with adult learners working to receive their Montessori certification from The\nCenter for Guided Montessori Studies and creates digital content for several Montessori\norganizations including the American Montessori Society\, MirusToys and Guide & Grow.\nHeather holds an Ed.S. degree in School Psychology from the University of Central Florida\, an\nM.Ed. with a concentration in Montessori Studies from Plymouth State University\, and she’s a\nNationally Certified School Psychologist. Heather is AMS credentialed at the 3-6 and 6-9 age\ngroups and also has experience with children ages 0-3 and 9-12. \nHeather lives with her husband\, Noah\, and her dog\, Ellie\, in quaint and quiet Eustis\, Florida. As a school director Elena is dedicated to creating a school community that is welcoming\, empathy centered\, and accessible. Working in a growing area with very few Montessori schools Elena is invested in cultivating Montessorians and growing access to Montessori for both students and teachers. \n\nElena has her BFA in Photography from the Maryland Institute College of Art\, her MACTE Early Childhood credential\, and her Masters of Arts in Montessori Leadership from Sarasota University. Elena is a member of the Montessori Association of North Carolina’s Education and Governance Board. She is also a board member of the LGBT Center of the Cape Fear. \nOriginally from Durham\, Elena has lived in Southeastern North Carolina since 2012. She has two small(ish) children and spends her free time trying to convince them to wear socks. Additionally she enjoys floating in the ocean\, running\, and photographing birds.

She is currently an American Montessori Society (AMS) School Accreditation Commissioner\, a trainer for the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) Administrators Certificate Course\, an Instructional Guide for the Center for Guided Montessori Studies (CGMS) Leadership Certification Program\, and a mentor for the Greenspring Center for Lifelong Learning Leadership Mentor Community. She has also completed the AMS Anti-bias Anti-racist certification course and is active in AMI’s Voices of Educateurs san Frontiéres. Cassi consults and provides advice to Montessori communities that are intent on generating positive and lasting change through the Montessori pedagogy.  \nFun fact. Cassi taught with her husband\, Pete\, in an upper elementary classroom and their dog\, Truck\, was their classroom pet. She is a Faculty Member of the Brain Health Initiative (a joint initiative with Massachusetts General Hospital)\, guest lecturer for Harvard University’s Neuroscience of Learning course\, a Montessori teacher mentor\, and the founder and president of the educational project Maitri Learning. She has worked as a primary consultant for the National Center for Montessori in the Public Sector (NCMPS)\, a columnist for the Public School Montessorian (now Montessori Public)\, and as the teacher’s representative on the Advisory Panel for the Annenberg Foundation’s course Neuroscience & the Classroom (developed in conjunction with the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics). Ms. Volkman earned her AMI 3 to 6+ diploma from the Montreal Montessori Training Centre (a bilingual program) and her Master’s degree from Harvard University. Her graduate research on early literacy  (the Montessori movable alphabet) earned her the Dean’s prize for outstanding thesis. Her work focuses on transforming education into a transdisciplinary\, scientific pedagogy grounded in mind\, brain\, and education (aka\, Montessori education).  Ms. Volkman is the mother of two (one by birth and one by adoption) and married to a biochemist/MBA. She enjoys kayaking\, hiking\, yoga\, meditation\, singing\, and conversation at the dinner table.

(she/her) describes her upbringing as free range: her childhood immersed in nature and adventure emerged into a deep sense of interconnectivity with all things and continues to spark her awe in the cosmos. As a young adult\, she was introduced to Montessori through her position as the director of a Nature Day Camp\, a pathway that sparked her passion in optimal learning and a rich career in Montessori that now spans three decades. She has spent the last twenty years delivering professional development workshops\, consulting schools\, and educating new Montessori teachers and the last 8 years speaking globally through her consultation business ClassrooMechanics. Her passions include issues of social justice\, educating support staff\, life sciences\, neuroscience as applied to educational practices\, and exploring the magnificence of the world.  Tammy is widely published and is a founding member of Montessori Everywhere receiving the 2021 American Montessori Society Community Service Award. She is a faculty member of The Institute for Educational Studies graduate program\, and she cultivates content creators for Trillium Montessori. After almost 9 years traveling the world full time\, she has recently put down roots in Santa Fe\, New Mexico where she enjoys making and appreciating art and design\, reading\, and experiencing nature. (AMS 3-6\, 6-12)
