DESCRIPTION:Reactive behaviors are patterns of behavior that interfere with learning and positive social interactions. They are alarmingly common in today’s classrooms\, so access to strategies that work\, even for learners with developmental differences\, delays\, or disabilities\, is important. Pam Shanks\, the author of “The Montessori Approach to Classroom-Based Interventions\,” will introduce the concept of Montessori Classroom-Based Interventions\, define the difference between tantrums and meltdowns\, and provide several strategies from her book to help you teach the behavior you hope to see. Ed.\, earned both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Kansas. Facilitating a match between Montessori and every child is the focus of her work. A master educator\, author\, and presenter\, she specializes in inclusive Montessori education by providing professional development and consultative services for schools and teachers serving children whose development is complicated by delay or disability.
