• In 2012 the American Montessori Society reported graduating only 500 teachers from all of their affiliated teacher-training courses.
• There are approximately 5,000 Montessori schools in the U.S. and that number is quickly growing.
The biggest obstacle in keeping up with the demand is certifying well-trained teachers who understand both the philosophy and methodology.
A second obstacle is getting teacher training and certification to those all over the world in a more efficient way than the present face-to-face/location based model.
