Margie Blount, Ed. D. Faculty in College of Education

Margie Blount, Ed.D., of Katy, Texas, a teacher, principal, professor, leadership coach, and a consultant for 33 years. Her leadership serves as a catalyst to build and enhance strong relationships within learning communities to ensure the implementation of effective and targeted strategies. Strategies that result in a growth mindset within individuales, foster conflict resolution, improve academic acheivement and support social and emotional well-being for students and educators. These accomplishments encompass leading and strategizing for diverse campuses, recruiting highly qualified staff, fostering a positive school culture, and implementing data-driven instructional leadership in both rural and suburban districts. Her skill set extends to coaching educators, program monitoring and evaluation, and building strong relationships with team members, parents, and community stakeholders. She has extensive experience in team building, collaborative planning, and developing effective leaders.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration and Secondary Education and a Master of Education degree in Administration, from Stephen F. Austin State University. In 2014 she received a Doctorate of Education degree in Educational Leadership, from Lamar University. Additionally Dr. Blount is a consultant for Cognitive Coaching, Adaptive Schools, Brain Research, Habits of Mind, Conflict Management, and Classroom Management strategies. She coauthored a facilitators manual entitled, Setting the Stage Scripts & Flicks to Facilitate Meetings. Margie serves as a Field Supervisor for the Educational Leadership Program at Lamar University. She serves on the boards of directors for Lian Dante Foundation and Montessori for Social Justice.
