We will be reviewing the Montessori concepts and practices that give children the freedom to be all they can be. From understanding the spiritual preparation of the teacher to finding the balance between liberty and discipline, the answers to our challenges are right before our eyes.

About Mary Ellen:
Mary Ellen has more than 50 years of experience as an early childhood and elementary teacher and teacher educator, lecturer and teacher on six continents. She is certified in Montessori for 3-6 (AMI) and 6-12 (PAMS). She holds a BS in Child Development, an M.Ed. in Integrative Education, a Master Teacher certificate from the Pan-American Montessori Society, and a certificate in The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd.
She served on the MACTE Board of Directors for ten years and was the recipient of the MACTE Wisdom of the Elders award in 2014. She founded teacher education programs in the US and Russia. Author of Learning to Read is Child’s Play, Nurturing Your Child’s Inner Life and the newly released Free to Be, Mary Ellen is delighted to share her experiences as a mother, devoted Montessori teacher and human being.
