Sarasota University is pleased to announce a new dual enrollment partnership with The Montessori Residency of Chicago (MRC).
The Montessori Residency of Chicago prepares educators to lead transformative, equity-driven classrooms in underserved, primarily urban communities. Through a rigorous, practice-based model, MRC recruits, trains, and coaches a diverse corps of teachers to deliver high-impact, Montessori-informed instruction that meets the needs of every learner.
MRC offers comprehensive Montessori certification for Primary, ages 3 to 6; Lower Elementary, ages 6 to 9; and Upper Elementary, ages 9 to 12. The program combines academic coursework, immersive classroom residencies, and individualized coaching to support educators as they develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to lead effective Montessori classrooms.
Through this new partnership, students enrolled in The Montessori Residency of Chicago can now enroll at Sarasota University and simultaneously earn credit hours toward their chosen degree. This collaboration allows MRC participants to deepen their learning, receive university credit, and take purposeful steps toward completing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree while continuing to make a meaningful impact in their classrooms and communities.
As the first university to receive institutional accreditation from the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE), Sarasota University remains committed to expanding access to high-quality Montessori higher education and creating pathways that support educators throughout their professional journeys.
