She also serves as the Digital Collections Archivist at James Madison University Libraries where she manages the stewardship of audiovisual and digital materials and maintains accessible, human-centered digital infrastructures and workflows. Her research interests encompass the epistemic commons, participatory knowledge organization, and the stewardship of oral histories.
Her academic background includes an MLIS from Louisiana State University, an MEd with a Montessori concentration from the University of Hartford, and a primary teaching diploma from Montessori Northwest. As a Research Librarian fellow and Co-Director of the Montessori Glossary Community Project at the Center for Montessori Studies, Bodeene partners with scholars and practitioners to co-construct and maintain a participatory, multi-perspective subject thesaurus of Montessori terms to support increased discoverability and access to Montessori research.
She is committed to fostering research environments grounded in ethics of care and respect for diverse ways of knowing. Outside work, she enjoys rollerblading, learning about psychoneuroimmunology and herbalism, and experimenting with documentary storytelling.
