Germaine DiJohn, M.S. Faculty in College of Education

Germaine DiJohn is a passionate and experienced Montessori educator with over 25 years of dedication to fostering a love of learning in young minds. Her journey began while pursuing her bachelor’s degree in elementary education at Saint Leo University. This led her to Safety Harbor Montessori Academy, where she discovered the warmth and family-like atmosphere that resonated with her. After being introduced to this school community, she knew Montessori was her calling.

At SHMA, she received her 6-9 AMS Certification from the Claremont Center for Advanced Montessori Studies and her 9-12 certification from the Center for Guided Montessori Studies. Throughout her tenure at SHMA, she has worn many hats, from Montessori guide to head of school. She earned her master’s degree in education from Saint Catherine University, further solidifying her commitment to lifelong learning.

Germaine is a dedicated advocate for Montessori education, having been involved in various aspects of the school, from planning parent education events to directing musicals. She has also served as a consultant/teacher trainer at Blossom Montessori School for the Deaf and enjoys contributing to the Montessori community through tech support and serving as an instructional guide for CGMS.

Germaine is a testament to the transformative power of Montessori education, both as a teacher and a parent. Her daughter, a product of Montessori education from an early age, is a thriving young adult, an example of the effectiveness of the Montessori approach.
