Ivette Kestenbaum, M. Ed. Faculty in College of Education
Ivette Kestenbaum found Montessori when she enrolled her daughters in a public Montessori program in Houston, TX. Seeing this revolutionary learning method in action inspired her to enroll in a Montessori teaching certification program and follow her children in the path of Montessori! After 12 years in education as a lower elementary teacher and special education coordinator, she decided to pursue an administrative certification. Ivette has held campus leadership roles for 8 years. Ivette’s robust professional background in accounting, human resources, project management, contract negotiations, and strategic management has been an asset in her administrative work. Ivette combines her deep understanding of pedagogy and special education with her professional background to focus on human development at every level. A lifelong learner, Ivette earned her M. Ed with a 4.0 GPA from Schreiner University and is currently working on a doctorate at Texas A&M Texarkana. Ivette is a Board Member of the Lian Dante Foundation and enjoys volunteering at local non-profits in the Houston Area. In her free time, Ivette also enjoys gardening, reading, and working on DIY projects.
