Jennifer Iamele Savage Faculty in College of Education
Jen Iamele Savage is an educator, writer, and instructional coach whose work centers on whole‑child, whole‑person development and the flourishing of the adults who guide children. She began her professional journey as a high school English teacher and has since worked across a wide range of educational settings, with most of her experience rooted in public Montessori. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in Montessori Studies at the University of Wisconsin–River Falls, deepening her commitment to dignity‑centered, developmentally grounded education.
Across her career, Jennifer has served as a classroom teacher, adolescent Montessori guide, instructional coach, curriculum designer, and consultant. Her classroom has always been a space for nurturing reflection, voice, and connection. Drawing from her Montessori foundation and extensive experience supporting educators, she approaches teaching and coaching with compassion, curiosity, and a deep belief in the transformative potential of human development. She encourages both students and adults to ask meaningful questions about identity, purpose, and the world they are shaping.
Jen is an adjunct faculty member at Fitchburg State University, where she teaches professional development courses for educators in literacy, conceptual math, and curriculum design. Her scholarship and practice are informed by her ongoing doctoral research and her dedication to building coherent instructional environments that honor both learning and the humans at the center of it.
As a writer, Jennifer’s work has been featured on Her View From Home, Motherly, and Charleston Moms, where she explores motherhood with both tenderness and fierce honesty. She is the author of The Language of Mom Rage, The Language of Motherhood, and The Language of Transformation, books that offer readers frameworks and language to understand their inner experiences. She is also the co‑creator of the Namasteach Podcast, which explores the inner landscape of teaching and the work of supporting the whole educator.
Jen lives in Charleston, South Carolina with her husband, two children, and their dog. When she is not working, she enjoys traveling, practicing yoga, reading, and exploring new ideas.
