Maegan Brusaw, M.Ed. Faculty in College of Education
Maegan Brusaw is an experienced Montessori educator and school leader with over fourteen years of service at Montessori Children’s School in Jacksonville, North Carolina. She currently serves as Head of School, where she provides leadership in authentic Montessori pedagogy, curriculum development, faculty mentorship, and school community engagement.
Mrs. Brusaw holds a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management from the University of Mount Olive and a Master of Education in Montessori Integrative Learning from the Institute for Educational Studies at Endicott College. She is Montessori-certified in Primary Education through the American Montessori Society and has extensive experience supporting educators pursuing MACTE-accredited Montessori training programs.
Throughout her career, Mrs. Brusaw has served in multiple roles within Montessori education, including classroom assistant, office administration, Primary Lead Directress, Primary Level Coordinator, teacher mentor, and educational leader. She regularly attends Montessori educational conferences and professional development opportunities to remain engaged in current Montessori research and best practices. In addition, she developed and facilitated the Montessori Children’s School Family Learning Series, a community-based educational program designed to support parents and families in developing a deeper understanding of Montessori philosophy and child development.
As an educational leader, Mrs. Brusaw is deeply committed to cultivating meaningful partnerships between schools, educators, and families while supporting the academic, social, and emotional growth of both students and teachers. Her work emphasizes the development of cohesive Montessori learning communities that foster independence, curiosity, leadership, and lifelong learning.
In addition to her professional experience, Mrs. Brusaw is a Montessori parent herself, with four children who have attended Montessori Children’s School, further strengthening her connection to Montessori education both personally and professionally.
