Nikki Conyers, Ed.D. Faculty in College of Education
Dr. Nikki Conyers (she/her) is an educational researcher and Montessori advocate. Her work lives at the intersection of equitable learning practices, community-driven design, and social justice.
Over the course of the last 20 years, Nikki has held many roles including Lower Elementary guide, Upper Elementary guide, Middle School founder & guide, Director of Teaching & Learning for a K-8 program, Montessori Teacher Education Program Coordinator & Instructor, Instructional and Executive Leadership coach for public Montessori programs, and Chief Operating Officer of Montessori on Wheels.
Her academic journey includes an Ed.D. in Montessori Studies from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, a Master’s in Education from St. Catherine University, and a BA in Psychology from the University of Houston. She also holds Elementary I/II and Secondary I/II teaching credentials from the American Montessori Society.
Staying connected to the Montessori community through research and advocacy continues to be important work for Nikki. She currently serves as the Humanitarian Chair of the American Montessori Society’s Community Engagement and Action Committee. She also continues to conduct research on Montessori practices and teacher mentorship alongside other researchers.
Nikki lives in Denver, CO with her husband and 3 rescue cats. When not working, she loves traveling the world or reading a good book.
